Red Honey (PDF)

Red Honey is named for an environmental phenomenon in the summer of 2013 in Utah. Honey bees had been feeding on a concoction of crushed, rehydrated candy canes and other candy materials provided by an unnamed bee keeping company. The honey produced by these candy fed bees turned red and has been described as having the a peppermint, coconut or cherry flavor and may contain more lead than traditional honey. The honey produced could not be sold for human consumption.
